Back in March when I had my ankle surgery I decided to try my hand at crochet...and found that I really quite enjoy it! I just finished this hat and blanket for my new niece Gracelyn. I've also made a couple of blankets for friends and a really cute pair of skull potholders that I will try to get my friends to send pics of so I can get them uploaded! The blanket was really fun to make and Im proud of how it came out!

Also, I made myself a pair of wristlets. I have an issue with my hands being cold all the time and thought that maybe these would help!

This year's Christmas Cards

Im trying to get back into making all my own cards. I ran out of time this year, but I will be mailing out some homemade ones this year. Here are a couple of examples....

The snowman set is a teachers gift I made for Cole's teacher and teacher's assistant. They are each getting a tin with a matching card set inside.

The Santa Claus one was an example I found on the My Favorite Things website where I got the stamp, Im not sure who designed it but she is amazing!

Fun Tea-light Candles

We made these in craft club at Jen's this past week! They are adorable and another great gift idea!!

HL Magazine Wreath

Yet another idea from the HL magazine...I love this catalog! Some really great ideas this fall, especially considering the mag is only a couple of bucks! This was a fun paper wreath on styrofoam. This is the second one I made, the other was made with Christmas paper and maybe I'll post pics some other time. I like this one better so it's the one you get to see!! :)

Good Intentions...

Although I started this blog with good intentions, it has really just stalled except for the multiple "gadgets" I have enjoyed adding. I am going to try to be better about writing and adding stuff here!! First I am going to post some pictures of some crafts I have been working on, I sadly can not claim all the creative ideas, but I wish I could!! I get a lot of my ideas from friends (amazing ones at that!) and magazines and craft books. I enjoy trying new crafts and falling back on the oldies but goodies too. I have found a lot of other crafty blogs through the net and get ideas there as well.

I found some unfinished bird houses at AC Moore that I thought would be fun to alter (after I saw an ad in a mag at Hobby Lobby....). My grand plan is to make a series of them with one for each major Holiday. My MIL loves birdhouses so they will probably find their way as gifts to her. Here are the first two. The first one so far is my fav and will probably be the one I keep, although, I love the new paper I got for the next one, so who knows!
